Ok,
I will warn you all ahead of time, I am a geek.. In the real world, away from the house I am a network engineer/ system administrator. If you need a web server network that can handle 50 thousand visitors per hour I am one of the guys you talk to about the problem. If you need some spooky PHP code to talk to a database and do fancy things with the data before the user sees it, then again I am your guy. If you need to replace someone with a clever perl script than look no further. I take being a geek to whole new levels with the house and the rest of my life though. The old house thing came naturally, I grew up in one, I grew up around them. Milwaukee is loaded with such things. After working all day in a virtual world where most of my accomplishments cannot be directly experienced, or touched I really get a lot of enjoyment going home and doing construction. That is something I can point at and say "I did this!".
My geeking gets worse though 8^)
I am also an avid WW2 flight Sim geek. So, when I am not working on the house or working at work you can find me in the on-line world of Il2 Sturmovik, shooting folks down and practicing my language skills with folks from around the world on Teamspeak. I speak reasonably good German, for a guy who has never been there. I can occasionally have moments of clarity in Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish as I am actively learning Finnish and Norwegian during my long hour and twenty minute commutes to and from work.
